For years physicians have been searching for an alternative to the stethoscope for the physical exam. Existing ultrasound systems, even so called portable systems consumed too much power, were too expensive and were too large to be carried by physicians.
Signostics engineers found a solution by creating the world’s only affordable, simple to use, palm-sized device that physicians can carry everywhere and anywhere, the Signos Personal Ultrasound. By combining technology from modern avionics navigation and modern medical imaging technology Signostics has developed a high quality ultrasound system weighing less than 320 grams or 1 pound.
This was developed not as a replacement for large cart based systems but as a compact affordable device designed specifically for point of care use. It is so simple to use that most clinicians can learn how to capture images in less than an hour.
The Signos system’s unique transducer integrates micro technology and position sensing technology to produce high resolution images equal to conventional ultrasound systems without the need for an array or motor. The user manually generates these images by literally painting a picture of the underlying anatomy. The Signos system will transform the future of medicine and the physical exam.
